Many of the events on this timeline have been placed into 3 categories. Some events were products of nature. Some were influenced by individual humans. Large scale events like economic depressions, wars, or elections also impacted this history. All these factors created Everglades National Park. Humans – acting on both the large scale and on the local, personal scale – were entwined with the natural history of the Everglades. These forces together impacted politics in the Everglades.
